Edmund Alleyn has spent the last years of his life in pen and ink drawing. Recently exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts in Montreal, these exceptional inks, referring to the trip, or an enigmatic journey full of humor and irony, have been published in print. :. L'atelier de mon père, by Jennifer Alleyn – MMFA – Nov. 23, 7:30 p.m.
During its Big Bang exhibition, the MMFA will be screening L'atelier de mon père, by Jennifer Alleyn. When it came out in 2008, this sensitive documentary on art and continuation won the FIFA Award for Best Canadian Work as well as a Gémeaux Award. With the director in attendance, on November 23, at 7:30 p.m.
Jennifer Alleyn will give a one-hour talk prior to the screening (at 6 p.m.) on Edmund Alleyn’s paintings.

Inspired by the works of the painter Edmund Alleyn, Canadian novelist Nancy Huston has written a poetic soliloquy for his corpus of ink washes. The book is an ode to creativity, a conversation between the words and images of two artists who chose linguistic exile in order to find “the right image.”


Dutch publisher Nijgh & Van Ditmar has selected a work by Edmund Alleyn for the cover of John Faber’s upcoming novel, Wende. The Dutch publisher was drawn by the elegiac quality of the work Carroussel (1980).
